The lore has always been inconsistent because lore doesn't matter: the beating heart of Silent Hill, even before James suffocated his wife, was the manifestation of terrible traumatic things a young girl had to survive. SHf is absolutely in conversation with that theme and it is not REMOTELY subtle.

If anything, SHf goes back to those roots instead of just trying to recreate SH2, which is badly BADLY needed for the franchise. Also, regarding the lore: this is the game series that features an ending with a shiba inu controlling everything. No one cares about your lore.
