New Hampshire ICE news: The Rockingham county measure to block ICE from using the Brentwood jail to house 150 detainees was successful & the contract has been tabled indefinitely it's important to take "indefinitely" very literally. it would also be correct to say "for now, until the next unknown"

This is civic action. Surprise, Arizona. Pop. 167,000. Huge crowd shows up to the City Council meeting to oppose DHS recent purchase of ginormous warehouse. Meeting + overflow room filled and hundreds more gathered outside. 130 people sign up to speak. 128 opposed to ICE warehouse.

This story really gets at a fundamental misunderstanding about ICE that I’m seeing outside of Minnesota. Folks think that ICE could terrorize undocumented immigrants and that it wouldn’t affect the broader community. But of course it does. The very fabric of social life is unraveling.
