Update: Ald. Fuentes held a presser this afternoon with other local electeds in response to this incident. She said the person the agents were arresting is a ~37 y/o man who broke his leg while being chased by ICE. Fuentes told press ICE agents blocked attorneys from speaking to the man.

Just witnessed Chicagoans following this undercover ICE vehicle (Black pick-up truck) heading south on Ashland honking their horns incessantly and alerting everyone that ICE was coming.

The US government has been ignoring massive protests for decades now. The problem with ignoring protests and/or trying to disrupt them is that protests are by and large peaceful. You have the public voicing their displeasure in a non-violent way. Ignoring that means eventually this stops.

Also if you are not knowledgable in the use of firearms it’s probably a good time to learn. Know basic operations, where the safety is, how to load and unload, how to cycle the action and most importantly trigger and muzzle discipline. You don’t need to have a firearm to learn this.

I would say this would be an excellent time for most Americans to learn some basic first aid techniques, get a physical map and compass, put together a emergency go bag and plan on a emergency escape route.

It's easy to go on TV as an elected official and say you're against this, but then assert zero authority over the police you do control. Police and their unions aren't afraid of weak local leaders. If you are against "what ICE is doing," then assert your authoirty over the police you control.
