Non-"blendy" telecine of a composite print of the Toho Champion Festival version of the 'King Kong vs. Godzilla' trailer that features on the 1991 Toho LaserDisc (capped by @mitchhang.bsky.social), but was not ported to the 2001 DVD release, where the familiar "blendy" telecine was utilized instead.

This was me a bit before I started HRT cosplaying as Queen Millennia and holding a cel. Now I'm years on HRT and have just gotten the series not only in America but in HD which I never thought would actually happen Surreal

This one's a trip. It's got exaggerated faces, mecha warfare, plenty of character cameos -- Mendou from Urusei Yatsura gets blown up in one scene -- and the fact that the main villain is named "Rory Conn" (I don't have to explain what that name suggests).

Built my first-ever RX-78-2 Gunpla earlier today. It's a remake of the first model released in 1980 and is apparently an Entry Grade model (High Grade would be the next step up). I like how each of the pieces can be removed without nippers and is illustrated in diagrams, so you know what goes where.

Some English graphs found exclusively on the AnimEigo DVD release of Otaku no Video. It seems whoever was working on the DVD thought that putting translations for some of the charts as overlaid subtitles would be too messy or complicated, so they decided to redo them entirely in English.

What a coincidence that I'm watching this particular scene from Otaku no Video on this particular day.

Otakon needs to take a hard stance on AI for panels. I’m hearing too many stories of people phoning it in to the point of using ChatGPT while on stage. If someone is suspected of using AI they should have their badge comp revoked and be banned from presenting for a few years. @otakon.bsky.social

It is very disheartening to hear about panelists using generative AI for their presentations at Otakon. This is especially tough when I know half a dozen excellent panelists who did not get their stuff accepted at all or maybe just one thing.

To say that I was excited upon seeing this announced would be a MASSIVE understatement
