It is a great week for solar system (plasma) physics. First, this week I found a box with the Comets III book (uapress.arizona.edu/book/comets-...) on my desk 🤩 and then I was notified that the Ganymede book (www.cambridge.org/core/books/g...) will be released on 20 February 😍

Good news during my vacation: my upcoming PhD student (GB) passed his last exam, now he just needs to pass his master‘s exam and he will start 1 march at @iwf-oeaw.bsky.social working on global magnetospheric dynamics, funded by @fwf-at.bsky.social. #GoPlasma #AustriaInSpace

Great book, interesting characters, worldbuilding, mysteries, only 1000+ pages :-O (late to the party, was published 2010) I hope the rest of the series continues this way.

Conclusions from the #JUICE #SWT in #Darmstadt: LEGA (Lunar Earth Gravitational Assist) was very successful for all instruments, with a few mysteries to be solved yet.

I am now at the #ESA_JUICE #SWT at #ESOC, bad weather outside so I have to sit through the afternoon session on #EMC. Well, we can send rockets to outer space, but getting a #webex session started is a whole other thing, it's not rocket science (and that is the problem).

Travelling to #Darmstadt #ESOC for the #JUICE #SWT. Unfortunately, will miss my workinggroup the first afternoon because of @prorail.bsky.social strikes. Well see you tomorrow.
