I get so lost in my characters. In trying to plot a story for one, I develop the story for another, and end up touching on a third who needed to be fleshed out a bit more. I started with Mallie the Wastlander and ended up one planet over at the Shrine of the Mother of Murders. I sure do meander.

I went into the movie blind, and didn't want to assume that the movie was intentionally about transness, but the movie conveyed that emotional journey so well that to learn it was the intent was a relief.

Even as a kid I was drawing flying cat ships and imagining princes sent back in time in exile. My worldbuilding is my journal. Any product I make from that is a labor to try and make you feel how I felt while making it.

Cities are my favorite. I love thinking about the eras a city lives through, and how each matured the city. Industry, immigration, shifts in demographics and in technology. There are many species of city, and each uniquely adapts itself and its environment in a way that reflects a temperament.

STAND OUT. Be strange in public. Be you in public. The time is nigh. Don't let yourself be put into proverbial boxes nor pine ones. ⚰️

A fun challenge of writing Last Generation is capturing the feeling of being nonbinary and not realizing it. The longer I look at the story, the more I realize how long it's going to take Malcolm to realize what she is. Survival is her greater concern, but an underlying self moves in tectonic ways.

Anhedonia has always made it hard to finish a project, but the compounding forces of burnout and depression have made it especially challenging lately. I've been writing, albeit at a pace slower than glacial melt. At this point it feels a bit like fiddling on the Titanic.

The Last Generation takes place in California, long after the melting of the caps and the cataclysm of The Big One. The San Joaquin Valley has become the San Joaquin Bay. The protagonist begins to the east, and has to escape the Exclusion Zone with her family. #worldbuilding #novel #ethnis

Every day I'm grateful that I find cleaning therapeutic because I am a chaos trash goblin and would not be able to work under these conditions otherwise. WRITERS: There's nothin wrong with procrasticleaning. Leave your manuscript up on a screen, plan while you work, and write when you find a spark.

Ever since I realized 7 Days to Die would be a great multiplayer outline for a setting like Silent Hill, I cannot stop wishing for it.

I resolve to make a habit of posting, even though I'm not entirely sure what to post about, because it's better than sitting alone in a corner. I'm currently working on my outline for my story "The Last Generation" [WT] and have mostly finished what first leg of the story.
