Today I toured the Contra Costa County Superior Court in Martinez, California to learn more about how their CARE Court Program is being implemented and to visit the Family Justice Center.

1) E-bikes are a fun and eco-friendly way to get around, but higher-speed riders aren’t always following the rules—and that can put everyone at risk. Since 2023, there have been nearly twice as many e-bike fatalities as regular bike fatalities, even with fewer overall injuries.

Hollywood’s talent is unmatched. It was an honor to celebrate the artists who bring our stories to life at the SAG Awards. But admiration isn’t enough. We must protect performers’ name, image, and likeness from AI misuse and deepfakes. I urge Congress to pass the No FAKES Act.

Black history is American history. This month, we honor the generations of Black leaders and changemakers who have shaped our communities, and we continue to advance equity and justice for all.

Yesterday, I questioned Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara about the state’s Sustainable Insurance Strategy and how new regulations will move homeowners off the California FAIR Plan. We need real accountability to ensure insurers write policies and increase Californians' access to coverage.

Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan earned a 100% score on the @ppactionca.bsky.social Legislative Scorecard, reflecting her votes and actions to protect reproductive health care, patient privacy, gender-affirming care, and Medi-Cal access across California.

I commend @governor.ca.gov for calling for, & @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov for investigating, xAI and Grok over non-consensual AI pornographic images. This is exactly why I introduced AB 621: to strengthen enforcement against deepfake abuse. CA leads in protecting people from AI harms.
