Let the Pride Month celebrations continue! It was great to be out in my District today, celebrating Pride with the City of Mountain View and with the Avenidas Rainbow Collective in Palo Alto.

Happy Juneteenth! Today is not only a celebration of the end of slavery in our country, but of our never ending commitment to fighting all forms of injustice. Now more than ever, it is crucial that we continue to stand up for freedom and our values of equity and inclusion.

On Gun Violence Awareness Day, we recommit ourselves to ending gun violence in our communities. California continues to lead the way with commonsense gun safety laws that save thousands of lives every year. (1/2)

If California is going to meet its ambitious climate goals, we need to make the transition from fossil fuels to cleaner energy more affordable. That’s what my bill, AB 2313, does by providing homeowners with support to electrify their homes. (1/2)

We must do everything we can to prevent suicide. That’s why I authored AB 2003, to provide life-saving suicide prevention training to ensure our students, teachers, administrators, and parents have the tools necessary to support young people in need. (1/2)

Today we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our freedoms. Their courage and sacrifice safeguarded the liberties we enjoy today and inspire us to never take them for granted. We remember their legacy, honor their families, and remain forever grateful.

Children’s Health Council has been a literal lifesaver for young people and their families in my district and beyond, providing mental health services, expert led learning programs, and more. (1/2)

It was great to welcome the 4th grade class from the Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School at the State Capitol this morning! They had great questions about our election process and my job as their Assemblymember!

On #DenimDay, we wear denim and stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence. Enough is enough. Sexual violence has no place in our society, and we must continue to listen to survivors, show our support, and enact change.

Unfortunately California is facing a youth mental health crisis, but resources like allcove youth mental health centers provide vital care and services to support young people across the state. (1/2)

I celebrated Earth Month by hosting a Trail Talk this weekend at Shoreline Park in Mountain View! It was great to connect with constituents in a more low-key way, learn a lot about ecological efforts in the district, get some steps in & mostly avoid the rain. A fun morning & a great time had by all!

A great community coffee in Portola Valley this morning. I always appreciate our conversations on issues important to our communities and how we can find real solutions. Thank you to everyone who braved the rain to join us!

Trump’s recent Executive Order to restrict mail-in voting is not only unconstitutional, but a blatant attack on our election system. As the author of CA’s universal vote-by mail law, I’m appalled, but not surprised, by these attempts to undermine our democracy & disenfranchise millions of voters.

The payday lending business is dependent on trapping Californians in a cycle of reborrowing, leaving them worse off than when they started. It’s time to end the payday loan debt cycle. I’m proud to author AB 2558 to protect Californians & their hard-earned dollars from these predatory loans.

Hangar One at Moffett Field is one of the most iconic sites in my district and across California, but it had fallen into disrepair and was in need of abatement of toxic substances and a massive effort to renovate the historic structure. (1/2)

Great to join @governor.ca.gov and colleagues for the bill signing for a $590 million emergency loan to support Bay Area Transit agencies that will protect service for hundreds of thousands of transit riders, and get hundreds of thousands of cars off of the road every day.

One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to occasionally be a tour guide for students visiting Sacramento from the district.  It was great to welcome the Latimer School from San Jose and show them their State Capitol! I am always impressed by our future leaders and their amazing questions!

It was uplifting to talk to the San Mateo County Youth Commission Civic Cafe yesterday. Their concern for others and for our democracy, their moral clarity, and their insistence that we must do more to push back against those who abuse power was truly inspiring. The future is bright!

A wonderful and historic night celebrating the swearing in of Santa Clara County Assessor Neysa Fligor, the first woman of color and first mom elected to a countywide leadership position in Santa Clara County!

I had my first serious talk with my six month old boy, Kaiden, on our walk this afternoon. May he grow up to have the same courage and moral clarity that Renee Good and Alex Pretti had to protect the vulnerable and stand up to the abuses of the powerful.

Alex Pretti was an ICU nurse. He is the second American citizen senselessly murdered by untrained, unneeded, unaccountable, unidentified government thugs who are terrorizing a U.S. city. He was legally monitoring government activity. He was legally carrying a firearm.

What an inspiring morning celebrating MLK Jr Day in San Jose with a tree planting with over 100 volunteers at Rainbow Park and volunteering at the community garden at Latimer School with dozens of students and parents. As MLK taught us, everyone can be great because everyone can serve.

Yesterday was one of the most special days in my 9+ years in the legislature, as I got to watch my dear friend Monique Limón get sworn in as the 50th President pro Tempore of the State Senate and the first mom and woman of color to hold the position. (1/3)
