I was typing a novel, earlier. Took me 30 minutes to find the right word. I thought they were called hotel residents. Turns out they're guests. Hotel residents do exist, but for longer-term stays.

I gave a challenge to myself this year. Publish 2 novels while finishing 2 novels, both of which I'll publish next year.

My neighbour's a single phlebotomist. So, I gallantly invited her to dinner. Drinks and food were perfect. Music? Not so much. I thought that putting "You're so vein" as a soundtrack would be a nice touch.

A balmy -22 degrees out there. On my way to work. I'd rather stay home and write the books that could gather dust. But alas, I'm off to my underpaid job.

This year's novels are set in two different universes. The London media scene (Christmas 2026) and the Edinburgh banking world (summer 2026).

Gave a challenge to myself. Have 4 books out as of 31/12/2027. That would mean 8 books in total. When I took the dive, I had planned to only write 2 novels.

Sometimes, novel voices in the written world are worth a mention. Like @turkishmeatchugger.bsky.social, for instance. Haven't read the novel, but I can sense the excitement. So, I think we might have a new writer to keep an eye out, in the near future.
