It’s hard putting into words how hard holidays are here. (And most of it is not my story to share.) We’ve been outside as much as we can and the views have been beautiful. But it’s been a rough couple of weeks.

I suspect this says more that I haven’t really been able to do much this year rather than anything else. I tracked my reading this year because I forget a book the second I finish it. It’s definitely been nice for that but it did make me panic/focus on how much I was reading and didn’t like that.

Wee glass of wine in the fox glass. Trouble is, it does feel like a wee glass of wine. The dog knows I have crisps so is keeping a close eye on me!

I really have no idea how I missed Wild East by Ashley Hickson-Lovence when it first came out. It's one of the finest verse novels I've ever read. A love-letter to the power of poetry, and a storyline that secondary school pupils will definitely relate to. Track down a copy!

2025 has been the year of Time Keys. I published books 1 & 2, wrote 3 & 4 loving the historical research. Thanks to booksellers, parents, librarians, teachers, readers & @waterstones_kids for the support. I’ve loved the 2025 rollercoaster ride & feel blessed to be on it with you.
