1/6 Entitlement is not just literacy, numeracy & keeping children safe, though it is never less than that. Entitlement is the whole childhood a public service is supposed to protect. If we only guarantee what is examined, we quietly teach a bleak lesson about whose lives are allowed to be wide.

I really don’t like the term ‘SEND’. And I really don’t like that we refer to a group of children as ‘SEND children.’ Like they all need the same thing because they’re ‘SEND.’ In kayaking, when you ‘send it’, you’ve generally hucked over a massive waterfall or done a huge loop on a wave.
