more work on new vision/detection stuff for enemies today . huge fan of

and doing more stuff in toolmode with gdscript. saves so much time testing core gameplay system stuff. raycasts, immediate mode debug geometry, and instant shader+material updates all just work

Wish Godot resources could be INHERITED like scenes can? I hacked together an addon that lets you do exactly that. Just add inherited_resource.gd to any resource, point it at a base resource of same type, and you're set! Grab it here:

I think my favorite never really talked about common sense feature of Godot is how it has built in support for randomly picking from a list of audio clips to play. Not only that, but it has built in support for randomly adjusting the pitch slightly.

Every couple days I see a post along the lines of: "Wow Godot graphics are this good now?" Just FYI: It's just that more people are making good-looking things with Godot since it got more popular, not that Godot graphics "look good now".

BTW did you know that Godot is using unrealistic light falloff by default? If you want your lights to look realistic you need to change Attenuation from 1 to 2 which corresponds to real-life inverse-square falloff I still forget about it sometimes
