Fibonacci256 Expanding is now available! This morning I'm experimenting with using laser cut and etched black MDF wood for the back panel, instead of acrylic.

8675309 is prime, and so is 8675311, so if you ever need a middlin'-large pair of adjacent primes to test your cryptographic suite, all you need is a 1980s earworm and a +2 and you're all set.

programming in C means you will want to put unsigned types in your code because you know when a thing should always be non-negative but then you will regret doing that

I recently revamped this art project for a festival that happened a few weeks back. My friends made the structure and interactivity and I did the lights! I really like these aquarium crystals as refracting diffusers!

Three Sonic Pillars running with CircuitPython. Each powered by a Pico 2W. Distance with Adafruit STEMMA-QT vl53l1x and improved sound with the Adafruit 5102 DAC. I wish I knew more about music & sound to have a range of more pleasing tones but it’s coming together. Also needs diffusion & mounting.

So in the meantime I redesigned my hexagon controller so that it fits neatly in the corner on the back of the hexa, leaving room for a nice large rectangular battery that can fit compactly inside a case.

if you're curious about the capacitors, they're Lithium Ion Hybrid (super)Capacitors. They're much safer than lithium ion batteries, and have 50k to 100k cycle life (batts have 1k to 10k). I also designed them here to be replaceable in the case one ever goes bad due to shorts or age.

Finally revisiting my open source earring project. These use an RP2040, an IMU, and 38 individually addressable RGB LEDs. They will wrap around a small rectangular lipo cell to provide enough power for subtle lighting effects for one evening.
