Ugh - the "magenta bush" file problems are back in Xcode 26 & SwiftUI. That notorious file used to crash in many cases when used. Then it was briefly fixed, but now it flips vertically when applied. So surprised this creeped back into Xcode26. This seems like an intern tester would absolutely catch.

I've got paid Claude & ChatGPT, trying simple updates to a Qualia board CircuitPython drawing program on a 4" TFT touch screen, and both are doing a terrible job. Vibe coding is not at all a replacement for programmers & weak in someone w/o knowledge to know how to improve w/directed prompting.

Tomorrow students will build a “Goblets of Glory” in CircuitPython class. Detect a “toast” tilt & play a song of magnificence (e.g. Game of Thrones theme). Upon build success they will receive “The Nectar of Knowledge”, which I claim is from Rivendell, as “Elven Runes” on the bottles make clear :)

I am expecting far more teach-ins at universities than I’m seeing. These should be places of free and open inquiry that really help our students understand and make sense of the current climate and what’s at stake. Why aren’t they taking place?

I know there are settings to tweak things, and the light tricks with Liquid Glass are cool, but initial take: many things are tougher to read and a lot seems applied in excess. Morphing and responsive controls are mostly good. Highlight taps and locations are an improvement.
