I also hate these "oh he didn't do it intentionally, so he shouldn't apologize" takes. what is up with this attitude that people shouldn't apologize for behaviors unless it was intentional. If you step on my foot by accident, you don't get to say "i shouldn't apologize, I didn't mean to do it".

It's one of my biggest annoyances with Bluesky. Racism from anyone that isn't a conservative is so often handwaved in these spaces and it's frustrating. the n word is treated like some inconsequential bad word and not something that can be extremely triggering and traumatizing to black people.

I think white liberals/leftists really need to work on not responding to discourse with a smug, unempathetic attitude. It's a little baffling to me to get snarky about black people being offended by the use of a racial slur, even if unintional.
