It’s going to be interesting to see whether the Republican Supreme Court figures out that their authority flows from perceived legitimacy achieved by following the rule of law. Because, I suspect the Republican Court believes their legitimacy flows from their authority, and boy is that wrong.

Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

When you stop using X then open it back up after a while, you realize how obviously it’s designed to elevate vicious jerks who share Musk and Trump’s cruelest, dumbest beliefs. Harder to see when you’re addicted to it; blazingly apparent from the outside looking in. Journalists: It’s bad for you!

DragonDiaries: My uncle Oz (no, not that Oz) is an inventor. Mostly stuff nobody needs, but this time I think he might be onto something; a dwarf tree (no, not that kind). No hunting, no digging, you just pick ‘em off the branch and… You know, cancel that. Chasing ‘em is half the fun.

the other thing about this is that there is no reason to pit these candidates against each other? each are good fits for their respective electorates and each shows the value of vigorous campaigns focused on the stated material problems of voters.
