Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things. Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

"look we're not using AI in the final product we're just using it to speed up the conceptual stage" is what a lot of dopes affecting an enlightened middle position keep saying. I truly do not get that one. You hate imagining stuff? You don't like thinking and conceptualizing? Get a grip

Similar to how voice AI use has been suggested; for 'scratch' or reference. I know many actors, myself among them, who got jobs from the scratch work. Every example of AI being used I've seen is cutting away a job that someone coming up would take or get on their journey. Maybe that's the point.

“Oh I only used AI for placeholders or idea starters” does not make it better! If you are using it for any part of the creative process then you’re no longer doing the process!

People who argue this point were raised to think they were stupid when they were kids. Children are people and deserve rich stories. The movies that gripped me were ones that I saw as above my level, something I was fascinated by to watch again and again as I grew and discovered more depth.
