There is something so unbelievably awful about this scam. It exploits the lifelong dreams of artists, the uncertainties of a career in publishing, and the secret, fragile hopes that authors hold about their work someday finding a larger audience. Shameful.

I'm late to the @sarahstewarttaylor.bsky.social party, but I'm here for it now. Set mostly in Ireland, this is the first mystery in a series I'm about to holiday binge. I spoke on a panel with Sarah at the NH Book Festival this year. Her intelligence and warmth just spill out of these pages.

We don’t talk enough about how when you’re the parent of teens, you’re going to say something inadvertently funny or weird one day and the thing is going to become *the* joke of your kid’s friend group. When they’re 35, they’ll still be laughing about it. It will bond them. It’s a lot of pressure.

Is there anything more humbling than copyedits, writer friends? It has been pointed out to me that I have a character eating breakfast three times in one scene.

Just finished Agony Hill by @sarahstewarttaylor.bsky.social a fantastic gentle crime thriller set in rural Vermont in the 1960s. A perfect escape. Looks like it will be the start of a great series.
