Spent three weeks trying to organise the surgery I’ve been recommended and getting nowhere. Calls not returned, appointments bounced or changed. I’m very pleased we have the NHS, but I have also known too many people that died before they got the help they needed, and I’m starting to understand why.

Not sure if anyone cares, but has the original 1979 mix of Edwin Starr’s H.A.P.P.Y. Radio been lost? Every version on Apple Music is either some awful 80s remix, or a live recording. My sister had the original 12” until the 2000s, when her now ex-husband sold her entire vinyl collection to a friend.

Saw a horror-thriller I’d been curious about for years tonight. Wild, ambitious, and turned increasingly ludicrous after the first hour. Like the director made the first half, then got bored and gave it to an intern to finish. Glad I’ve seen it I suppose.

The great actress Diane Keaton has left us at the age of 79. Too soon to say good-bye to the woman who made us smile at the quirky Annie Hall, and who broke our hearts in Reds. Your charm and talent will be sorely missed.

Sorry, I was expecting today to be a really good, productive day, but it went south with one phone call at 10am and has stayed there.

Maybe it’s in used condition because you think it’s ok to lay it on a concrete slab to take a photo of it.

What I always forget to budget for when quoting for shows is the hours, even days, I lose faffing back and forth on email bc the people paying for it don’t understand how a live gig works.

My husky got me up in the middle of the night so many times, last time at 5am, I couldn’t remember how we left it. Thought he’d gone to sleep outside!! Had to search everywhere for him this morning. Eventually found him at 11am, asleep under my desk ❤️

FYI, if you were thinking of picking up the Batman follow-up TV show The Penguin on 4K Blu-ray, don’t hang about. Perhaps there’ll be a re-pressing, but atm it’s going out of stock everywhere (in the UK at least). Managed to grab the steelbook last week for £32, and prices have gone up since then.

🙁 to hear about the passing of Danny Thompson. Bass player with Pentangle and John Martyn, and later session player for everyone. I spent a day at his house doing fixes for a live album I’d recorded with Tom Paxton. He couldn’t have made me feel more welcome. Instantly one of my favourite people.
