Cicero loves the vacuum but is only a tiny bit scared of it. He likes to follow me, but stay about 10 feet away just in case it's a monster. The moment it's off he comes over and plays with it. Here he is, watching from the safety of his fortress.

Well, despite having nearly the same exact stats as Dark Knight, Dragoon was unable to deal unarmed damage to the same enemies. It took me 4.5 hours to get past the first boss of this run, but then I cruised through the next two and already bagged my first bomb arm. We're off to a good start!

Was outside for 6 hours today, playing pipes and enjoying a local Celtic Fest. Now I'm tired and my feet hurt, but I'm raring to get started on the FF3j Dragoon SSCC! Going to get some food and look to get started, unless I get attacked by a nap.

Scholar was victorious! This was a very difficult puzzle to solve. I ended the run with 5 elixirs and 2 turtle shells spare, and used every single potion and offensive item I had. It was very nearly perfect item management for the entire run, and a really creative grinding route to maximize drops.

Was aiming to finish FF3 tonight but errands and fatigue finally got the better of me. I'll be finishing this Scholar run this weekend! Maybe tomorrow, maybe Saturday. Time will tell!

Was making slow and steady progress with Scholar today, and decided to do a test run to the endgame to get a feel for what resources I need before I can push to end for real. In short, we're *much* closer than I expected. Damage numbers are very encouraging and we've prepared well so far!

I discovered a lot of new ways to lose runs, but I feel like my consistency is slowly improving. Switching between emulator and console for practice and testing is doing me no favors so I think I'm just going to stick with console from now on. Due for a big PB soon!

Finally finished chipping away at the Mother 3 run from @rpglimitbreak.bsky.social last week. Really aweaome run and commentary, @lonelyrta.bsky.social and others whose tags I don't know! Very much enjoyed watching a fully commentated run of this finally, especially on the big stage.

I needed a nice long sleep and my cat was in a cuddly "oh hell yea, we sleepin?" mood instead of an "I'm going to defeat the house" mood, so it all worked out.

Got this pretty big PB a few runs into the night, and then couldn't get anything started after that. Pretty ok first half, and then dropped 10-15 seconds on every split after that. This is 2nd or 3rd place right now, depending on if and how Super Gameboy 2 converts for this game.

I have a very busy weekend ahead of me, and I've been a tornado of slamming through errands and yard work since I got home today. Cicero has been very patient through all of it, so I treated him to some catnip and treats. This is going to be an exciting evening.

My favorite part of speedrunning is testing the same stupid fight for like 2 hours, making no progress at all, but accidentally finding something interesting that makes a different and much more important boss way more consistent.

my gf works corporate and is on a training about AI and there's a word cloud for "what do you use AI for." the largest word by far is "Nothing" and the trainer is PISSED

Was thinking last night how unique MMV is. There are three different low-gravity environments (water, outer space, and 0.5x gravity) in this game and they all feel very different. I'm used to MM5 for instance where water and outer space are the same physics. Wild to have 3 different variations.

Very happy with this first day of runs! 50:35 -> 47:01 -> 45:57, still with two deaths and missing the two biggest quick kills. Super fun run, and very punishing just like all classic Mega Man runs. Looking forward to more, after some practice and more testing.
