Tonight's new engine, a very late birthday gift to @tigerhawk7109 the British Railways class 77/EM2! These electric locomotives were built for the Woodhead Line. Irl these were sold to the Netherlands in 1979, but things played out a bit differently in my AU.

In 1851, the Semmering Trials were held in Austria. Lesser known than the Rainhill Trials, the Semmering Trials advanced the development of articulated locomotives. This was the early stages of the articulated locomotive, and like any early locomotives, these were wacky designs.
