75 Years Ago TODAY the Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society was formed. Following this, on the 14th May 1951 the TRPS ran their first train kick starting the global railway preservation movement as the World’s First Preserved Railway.

Someone needs to teach this engine how to use a railway tunnel.

You can find the Wharf departure and arrival timings for the SPECIAL TRAINS below, alongside some of the TRAINS WITH A TWIST - which are available to passengers with a valid 'Explorer Ticket'. A full timetable will follow shortly! We hope you will enjoy the Awdry Extravaganza!

Evening Event LIVESTREAM tickets are now closed for sale - a link will be emailed out to all ticket holders prior to the evening events.

THE FAN TENT will be open 9am - 5pm each day with event merchandise, society stands & of course the test track! The ABER EXHIBITION will be open from 11am to 5:30pm on Friday and Saturday, and until 4pm on Sunday. This is £5 per person and can be paid by cash or card on the day.

KING'S CAFÉ will be open 8am - 5:30pm, hot food served til 4pm. Special menu in use during the event. DUKE will be giving FOOTPLATE RIDES at Tywyn Wharf from 10am - 5pm, these are £2 per person and can be paid by cash or card on the day. Children must be accompanied by an Adult.

Any SPECIAL TRAIN ticket holders you do NOT need to queue and can board your train straight away, where the Guard will check you in - if you have any doubts if you are on the correct train, please ask the friendly platform staff.
