As a public service, I thought I'd offer a little constructive criticism of the most popular styles of bike racks, since it appears that the entities that manufacture and install these racks are clueless about the needs of actual bike riders.

in hindsight, the gangland shootings were naive. If people waited until their targets were on pedestrian crossings, it would have stayed out of the public and political imagination. No hi-vis on the victim may even have garnered sympathy.

High-vis for cycling, high-vis for walking to parties, high-vis for children playing⊠Where do people think this stops?
Comment & Analysis: Yesterday, it was the bus drivers' union's turn to call for mandatory high-vis for cyclists. But I just have to ask: Where do people think this stops? The data doesn't align with much of what some people are talking about. A catch-up for anybody not following: After a backlash, the Government backtracked on the idea of making helmets and high-vis a requirement for all cyclists, but they still seem to be considering such regulations for pedal-assisted bicycles, which are currently treated as bicycles under Irish and EU law.

OP is joking, but also telling the truth. When you tell us "its just common sense to dress like you are on a building site when you are walking to buy some milk" you actually do sound like someone who thinks you will be safe from STIs if you *always* wear a condom. A fundamentally dumb position.
