Thinking about what's for dinner.

I stood in a record shop called The Left Legged Pineapple, looking at an album. I was pretty skint, & I thought the band was a bit shit. But I was in the crowd at a music festival in Leicester, & they used a photo on the sleeve. I never did buy it. Anyway, 30+ years later, I just found it.

Campaign to make it normal to take your dog to work. People take babies all the time, like, look at this tiny human I made! No, look at *this*: my mental, slightly chubby, but insanely adorable spaniel!

The most dangerous thing about AI is not that the machines might one day think. It is that we are being trained, by men with enormous financial gains riding on our acquiescence, to stop thinking for ourselves.

There are 3 of us on our breakdown cover (eldest at uni). The AA wrote to me & said they were pleased to offer our renewal for 475 quid. I called to tell them to jog on, that i was cancelling it. I'm not paying 500 quid for something we barely use. They said they could reduce the price by 50%

I've been to a teacher conference. One of the CPD modules I chose was regarding handwriting, which we all booked weeks ago. They had to hand out pens to *a lot* of teachers who didn't bring one. Who goes to any training event without a pen? Let alone a fucking handwriting workshop.

Good God! We are in deep trouble. “Parts of France are recording land surface temperatures above 55°C...approaching values commonly seen in the Sahara. The difference is that one is a desert. The other is supposed to be one of Europe's most productive agricultural regions.”

Last night, I wondered what the fuck the dickheads were up to. Chewie had a mouse. Turns out, the mouse was alive, & still is. Somewhere in our bedroom. Cleaned out the cupboard under the sink to find the (humane) mouse trap. It is now deployed with grated cheese & flaked almonds.

Every summer I repost this article on how to spot drowning. Please read it and pass on. In the last few years I’ve had SIX messages from people who saved a kid’s life after clicking on the link from my feed.

We watched Newsround in tutor yday. 2 kids interviewing Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver. They asked about the recent space exploration & if they'd go into space. Sigourney Weaver "I wouldn't send me into space". Cue me cackling & the students looking confused.

Planning the next couple of weeks and cancelling after-school activities for the offspring, I say this as a parent and a teacher, the GCSE exam timetable is a fucking disgrace. In no other point in time will they be examined so thoroughly on such a depth and breadth of subjects.

I still love the theory a Year 6 child proposed to me that David Attenborough is actually God and he got fed up with people not noticing the amazing things he'd created, so he made documentaries to show off.

Popped in Morrisons on the way home to buy Easter eggs and a bottle of wine (all for colleagues). Total £48. Then I used my 'More' card; the new total £32. That's fucking criminal. Selling your soul for cheaper prices. I'm not pleased with a discount, I'm fucking horrified at the markup.
