Remembering Phyllis Davis on her birthday. A sexy bombshell who could act, she did comedy & drama, villains & heroines in a nuanced manner. She had an excellent speaking voice that gave her gravitas & maturity. Her best work was LoveAmericanStyle, Vega$, Sweet Sugar & Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

High praise for THE BEST OF EVERYTHING from Mr. Dreyer himself. I think he's right. (There's Bell, Book and Candle too, but the publishing is secondary to the witchcraft.) Look at this with the typewriters and manuscripts, and the rack of Fabian paperbacks in the back. 😭

When my father appeared on the final episode of MASH, playing the Chinese Army musician captured by Charles, he told us Loretta Swit was very kind & polite & asked questions about the Chinese Opera instrument, the hu-quin, he played on the show because she was genuinely interested in his craft. RIP.

Very Funny & charming pilot to the 1973-74 Ozzie's Girls spinoff series where Ozzie & Harriet Nelson rent Ricky& David's room out to college coeds Brenda Sykes & Susan Sennett.
