Since I’m on my shit again lemme be 100% clear. Southern culture is largely black culture. The music, literature, and food of the American South was greatly influenced by African slaves. Black folks shaped my culture despite not being accepted in it and they deserve recognition and respect for it

Here are the videos of the hen this morning: Video 1: 6:33am, the hen is just past that large tree with the dead limb up against it. My husband is sitting against the tree facing the hen. Video 2 in the replies.

Trying to get my PMP cert this summer. Will it actually increase my salary in govt? Probably not. But I want forward progress skill wise at the very least. Has anyone here without a technical degree successfully leveraged a PMP to advance in public sector work? I'd enjoy hearing others' opinions

Utah looks so bizarre. Like for such a strange landscape it appears to be populated by the whitest waspiest people who are like outdoor bros. I am both fascinated and bewildered.

It’s why this election matters, gerrymandering or not… hate, racism or not… women’s rights, racial equality… or not It will take decades to defeat a full tilt authoritarian oligarchy, history has proven that… there’s no American exceptionalism in throwing away our republic

After last night's torrent of strange dreams, I have to say I've come around to the idea that dreams too are basically mining tailings dumped into the river: the effluvia sloughed off during maintenance sessions isn't extra important just because it glows red and smells like sulphur.

Here's what I won't watch any more. Videos of woodworkers, lapidarists, hobbyists etc. who buy $70,000 of the best equipment to produce high quality pieces of art and furniture, sped up to high speeds. It mocks everyone. Give me someone with Harbor Freight tools at real speed. I'll watch that.

I am against purity testing, but I think there is a difference between dismissing a potential leader for a mistake that does not match their overall character and there being one too many facts that don't line up. newbies with no voting record to scrutinize their character under pressure= scrutinize

It feels under-commented upon that an American public dumb enough to vote in Trump nevertheless NEVER supported the Iran war. Iran has been a reflexive American hate object since 1979, and a temporary "rally round the flag" effect is always simply taken for granted... but it never came.

The people that shout there’s no such thing as structural racism, that get worked up over DEI, and that get very upset when they’re called racists are specifically disenfranchising black communities right now.
