But even more than that, the voters who selected them, the voters who screamed "yes, we want the old hierarchies of race and sex and wealth back" also revealed they too are fundamentally unworthy of collective leadership - because they picked *these* fools to lead.

In this case, MAGA's effort to desperately recreate and reinforce the hierarchies they've chosen honestly has served to further discredit them: these folks - corrupt, incompetent, unimaginative, cruel and unvirtuous - are obviously, transparently unfit to lead.

Not a very original thought, but as all of the irrelevancies burn away, it really is obvious that the core of MAGA is a desperate attempt to reinforce crumbling hierarchies: power of the wealthy over the poor, men over women, whites over non-whites. Born out of seizing terror of a more equal world.
