The mayor says something really important about something that's bugged me for a long time: that we force grieving families to relive their trauma over and over again as they lobby elected officials asking them to do the right thing. I am so glad to hear him say those days are over.

It really was magical to see so many festive folks out on a dreary, wet night. The looks of joy from kids in their doorways was well worth the braving the weather.

Amazon launching 30 minute delivery in Philly without any cargo bikes like in NY means that the PPA fines aren't anywhere high enough!

1400 signatures to put in a bike lane around City Hall. Seems like a lot more than the "500" the CM got to get on the ballot and run unopposed...

Fairmount Park in Philadelphia has tremendous potential to be a world class park like it once was, but it's held back by far too many high speed roads and extremely deteriorated paths for people walking and biking. Advocates seek to finally change that:

Philadelphia CP Jay Young refuses to answer questions about why he is holding up a bike lane around City Hall that 1400 people signed a petition for (and which no one opposes). The arrogance is impressive.

There is exactly one way to rapidly cut pollution at scale, save money both at the govt and household level, and do it without federal help. The best fastest thing to do on climate is to just make cities safer for walking and biking. That's it. Every climate person should be working on this.

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission publishes a tool that shows where sidewalks are missing:
www.dvrpc.org/webmaps/side...
Embarrassingly Philadelphia's worst area is Fairmount Park which has many roads without any sidewalks.

Fairmount Park is one Philadelphia's most underused assets, because it's not designed to be safe or usable as a park. Since 2019 41 people have been killed by crashes in the park.
@bikeaction.org
is trying to fix that. Sign their petition to call for a safer park:
