As of yesterday, potable water is back in Asheville. For 53 days since Helene, we boiled water on the stove tops for makeshift camp showers, brushed teeth with bottled water, and drove to water distribution sites each week to fill jugs with potable water to wash dishes, cook, and clean ourselves.
