I remember the first time I came across this watching a Japanese film and was confused as hell.* Especially since Japanese pronunciation of English isn't always clear on a first listen, so you'd have to rewind to catch it because there's no subtitle. 😩

Thinking about the magic of stage and how cool it can look from the audience. And how cool it is behind the scenes seeing how it all comes together. On one hand, I get keeping the illusion up for kids, but I think it's just as important to recognize the people who make it happen.

Aside, I really dislike senpai-kohai culture/dynamics. Mostly because life circumstances typically lead to me "falling behind" and kohai being better than me because they have more time to dedicate to the group, but I'm still a "senpai" by seniority which feels meaningless to me.

So a production I'm part of, "Peteru The Money Maker," is a 12-part stage production. Basically an original anime production but designed as a series of stage plays. We're gearing up to wrap up with Ep 12 this year, and my castmates are begging for a "season 2." I'm begging us to do a new story. 🤣

Directly translating removes the original intent of the text and can easily result in mistranslations. Localization by experienced and professional translators and editors results in better translations.

Was with friends at the mall. One wanted to stop by the arcade for the crane games, put ¥300 yen in my hands, and told me to have fun. ¥200 = 3 tries later, I managed to get this because the hook caught on the top flap and lifted the box clear off for a clean fall. 😅

When I first moved to Japan, I used to joke to myself that I'd probably meet my soulmate when they hit me while on their bicycle. Realistically, it's highly unlikely anything would come of that kind of situation between the apologies and panic, but I enjoyed the absurdity of the thought.

The first episode of Secrets of the Silent Witch didn't grab me when it first aired (I wasn't sold on the "socially awkward prodigy" framing), but I gave it another chance and I'm glad I did. It's a lot cuter than I had given it credit for.

etrange overlord releases today and I was the lead editor for it!! I love this game, and it's one of my favorites I've worked on. Definitely check it out, especially if you love great female protagonists ❤️
