I don’t know about anyone else, but since I have daughters, I buy twice the girl superhero books as I used to. Like, I get them all for myself and then I usually buy an extra copy for my daughters. I guess children do change your comic buying habits.

Finally picked this up from the LCS. The second issue is better condition than the first, but it doesn’t matter either way, because now I own “Parable”.

I feel like the X-office is trying to get Wolverine cancelled.

I read the whole of DIE yesterday. Jesus Christ, I forgot how much @kierongillen.bsky.social and Stephanie Han (I’m not sure if she’s on BlueSky) cooked on that one. I’m now ready for the sequel.

So… am I wrong about thinking Age of Revelation is going to be ass? Marvel never gets these AoA replays right. I hope I’m wrong but the writer corps they have, I don’t have a lot of faith. Gail and Murewa can only do so much.

So, after my thumb through of Wolverine #11, I gave it a read after I finished some work and it’s decent, but it’s only decent because it’s a long fight. Ahmed has written a good comic, but I just don’t know if he’s the guy you want to do a story like this. I don’t know. I wish I liked this book.

After thumbing through the newest issue of Wolverine, I’m wondering exactly what the hell is Marvel doing with the character? I’m not spoiling anything, but Jesus, this is a terrible comic. This book didn’t have much going for it to begin with and they’re making it worse.

So, I finally read Marvel AXIS - I wasn’t working when it came out and when I was working I heard how legendarily bad it was, so I didn’t buy it. It’s… certainly a comic I’ve read. I don’t hate it. I do think Remender was trolling a bit because he was leaving Marvel, though. I kind of like it.

@philjimeneznyc.bsky.social I just read the Titans Annual and it made me cry like a baby. That was a beautiful comic and I want to thank you for it.

So anyway, last week I bought all of Uncanny Avengers (Vol. 1) for like fifty bucks (in the last month, I’ve bought all of the Avengers books that launched in Marvel NOW), and it made me want to order AXIS. So I did. I’m hoping what I’ve read about it is wrong and I like it.

Looking at Hickman’s Avengers/New Avengers, they really gave him every great artists that worked at Marvel at the time, other than Cassaday, Acuna, Bachalo, Pacheco, McNiven, and Bradshaw (Silvestri, too, I guess). Like goddamn.

I feel like Tom Brevoort still edits Fantastic Four because he wants to work on characters he actually likes with a fanbase he doesn’t have contempt for.

I missed out on years of Wolverine comics, so I’ve been buying stuff from like ‘09 on. I have a few thoughts. I always knew Jason Aaron was a good Wolverine writer, but goddamn, I never realized how good until I read the books. Get Mystique was super cool, Wolverine: Weapon X was amazing, 1/

This is the comic that has caused all of this Savage Land Rogue hullabaloo? I get it for like a dollar.

It’s kind of wild that the comics I grew up with are now as old as the original Silver Age Marvel stuff was when I started reading. I bought more ‘90s X-Men and Wolverine (well as Captain America: Reborn because I’ve never actually read it before), trawling dollar bins for 90s gold.

I read Wolverine #77-79 for the first time in years and it’s easy to forget just how amazing Hama was at writing Wolverine during that period. And Adam Kubert’s art? Fire. Those Lady Deathstrike splash pages? The panel layouts? The sideways double page spreads? Jesus, it was all perfect. 1/

Any time I see ‘90s X-Men stuff, I buy it. Squadron Supreme #1? Fucking duh. And I just really like Utopia. I’m so happy to find that X-Men Omega. Mine is long gone, but now it’s back.

@gailsimone.bsky.social’s Uncanny X-Men does it again. We talk about the current Ultimate books and how they’re the best Marvel books, but if you aren’t reading Uncanny, you’re missing the best Marvel book. Kudos.

So, apparently, the Wolverine #10 continuity error wasn’t Brevoort’s team’s fault, because it happened in the Krakoa Era. I didn’t know about it back then because I hadn’t read “Killable” at the time. So, I’m retracting all of the harsh stuff I said back then.

I’m starting to think that Javier Pina should be the main artist for Wolverine instead of Martin Coccolo.

So, I found a massive mistake in the last two issues of Wolverine. @tombrevoort.bsky.social should maybe hire people that actually know the character’s history.

I re-read Gerard Way, Nick Derington, and Tamra Bovillain’s Doom Patrol (and the Milk Wars) and I’m just reminded of how hype Young Animal was. I think I want to write about it. We didn’t know how good we had it. I then re-read Unstoppable Doom Patrol and that’s the best X-Men story in years.

Not making Mercedes/Toni Storm the main event of All-In proves that Khan isn’t nearly as smart a booker as his fans like to say he is. I also just saw someone call the Death Riders thing a Bloodline rip off, and while that’s not true, it’s the same kind of angle - dominant heels being dominant 1/

I want to be on a podcast. I’m just too depressed to start one on my own. Anyone need a podcast guest? I have a mic I’ve never used and everything. There was a while there were more people read my stuff than anyone else who wrote about comics.

Last night, I read Kingdom Come #1-4 as individual issues for the first time since I sold my copies in ‘07. I got really emotional, flashing back to teenage me reading those issues, hitting the cliffhangers in the end, and the anticipation for the next one. The sheer emotion of the story. 1/

I had this whole skeet planned about the Fugees and Wycleaf Jean, and how The Score and The Carnival are some of the best albums ever, but we already know that, right? I’m just lonely and shouting into the ether.

Just a reminder, while some comic publishers might do big pride month specials, some creators are making LGBTQ+ focused and accessible comics all year round, every year, all the time. You should maybe show them as much love (or more) too Just sayin’ 😎

So, I got the Donna Troy wedding comic for a song. It’s not in immaculate condition, but it’s in good condition. You can think whatever you want about Donna’s relationship with Terry Long, but I think it’s impossible to deny that this is a great comic. I mean, Wolfman and Perez don’t miss 1/

So, today, I went to my secondary local comic store to pick up Kingdom Come #1-4. They were $5.50 each. I happily bought them because that’s a fucking steal. I took them home. Opened them up for inspection. They’re all signed by @markwaid.bsky.social . I got Kingdom Come singed for $22. 1/

The loss of Peter David has really hit me. Right now, I’m losing a lot of things in my life and his death happening on top of it all was like diarrhea icing on the shit cake. We invite people like Peter David into our minds, we pay for the privilege to let them into us, and we spend years together

So, if AEW is better than WWE, why are their fans so mad about counter-programming. This is literally how wrestling has worked for decades. You guys want to say that AEW is competition but get mad when WWE treats them that. Shouldn’t you be happy?
