Since my current hyperfixation seems to be Lego, which I swear is going to fade eventually, I realized I had a ton of Lego dimensions crap from 2015. So now I've got minifigs of a bunch of Gen X nostalgia properties, as well as a genuine Lego Midway Defender cabinet! I'll use that for this set.

I definitely want to customize this Lego arcade cabinet to look like a real one instead of a generic, but what do I do? It has red and black colors! What game has oh wait a minute

Next bag done. The control panel base is built and the coin slots are finished. Also building out the structure inside the diorama. The stickers are definitely hosed, so going to reach out to Lego customers support about that. But pretty good progress overall. I think I could do one bag a morning.

Starting a little adventure, getting back to my roots. As a kid I played with Lego all the time. Got this kit for Christmas, and even though I can only build it in short burst due to my disability, going to try to see it through. Instructions are online, thankfully, because the booklet is bent up.

I fell out of love with the show back when I was pumping out tons of fanfic for it in the 90s because it felt like there was no love here, just perpetual flavors of loathing. The new version definitely does a better job breathing back in subtlety and heart.

Finally getting my social under control here using feeds and lists. It was getting a little silly plowing through screenshot posters to try to get to life updates from people I care about. But it still brings me joy to see all those retro images and box art and so on, so I put it in a side list.

All told, I had a surprisingly good birthday. Got more sleep than I ever do, genuinely enjoyed playing my new RPG, hung out with friends and family. Going to bed satisfied and unusually pain-free. If we can keep that going, that would be great. Unlikely, but great.

I don’t think Larian understood that when they casually talk about their use of genAI it wasn’t spoken into a board room or a zoom call full of people thinking about numbers, it was to a host of fans who looked to them as an example of humanity and art persisting in spite of things like that.

One weird thing (for me, at least) about crafting a solo RPG is when I sit down to play it, I have a hard time writing just for myself. I'm so used to every word I write being for someone else's entertainment that going pure solo feels weird and somehow a bit selfish.
