I had 30 mins to spare before a hospital appointment today, in a part of Dublin I don't really know. Found Blessington Street Basin - former reservoir that supplied the city from 1810. Now a nice wee park, even in heavy rain.

I was looking through a storage box for a couple of documents I needed, and discovered a file full of my O, A, and S level papers. Here are the maths A-level ones...I looked through them and now feel a) old and b) stupid. I passed this one in 1983.

#VBC4 - I wanted to be Annie Lennox when I was younger, and whaddya know? I still do. Specifically around Sisters Are Doing It...time, although I think Revenge is one of their finest albums.

At Pearse waiting for the Maynooth train; woman sat beside me is chatting on her phone. "Oh!" she says, "here's my train now!" She carries on detailing the intricacies of her life, and the train leaves. She doesn't seem to notice.

I just bought a Blood, Sweat & Tears CD that is so old, it has an advert for a Sony Discman inside. This was yesterday in Tower Records, Dublin - the CD, case and packaging were all in pristine condition.

Wasn't quick enough to put the laundry away.

#BabysBreath I'm not sure what I expected from @russincheshire.bsky.social 's first novel, but probably not this. It's a cracker of a thriller, it's pacey & intriguing, and I kept having to put it down so I could y'know, eat, sleep, breathe. A great read & one to go back to at a more measured pace.
