I don't think it's a hot take to say that a movie doesn't need to be 100% faithful to the book. Just enjoy the book. I like adaptations. If something isn't the way you want it, it will always be worse. People get down right religious over fiction! Stories will always change.

Makeup is weird in Sigils because culturally only "painted ladies" or actors wear a lot of it. Thalia is "tomish", meaning in the books she cross-dresses and does not often wear make-up. However, while working for her family's circus, she does get dolled up for her act. #Art #WIP #SigilsofMalice

#SFFChat Q3: My Sigils books have strong anti-exploitation messages. Thalia is physically strong, but massively underpowered compared to what she's up against. This puts it rather vaguely, given she starts complacent with her abuser. It's why Whispers is the hero she needed to learn from.

#SFFChat Q2: Of that I enjoy and know something about? Um... I can't think of books off the top of my head. I do know games. Tyranny. Words are literally power. The very mechanism of myth making is weaponized between your character and the villain. Good game if you like playing magic lawyer.
