This doesn't really come up but you can assume in my world it's just how trash was dealth with historically. Firstly a lot of household trash is a very new phenomena of massmanufacturing. For most of human history things weren't made to be one time use. Production was just so much more expensive -

Bir Accio's got freelance recycling and municipally-run curbside bin pickup! They may not have proper schools any longer, but as the preamble of the Health Modernization Act notes, a clean city is a productive city. Shame about the poorhouses.

Honestly, just regular garbage collection and sewer systems? They recycle everything they can too, and dispose of anything left over as cleanly as possible because the nature spirits would end them gleefully otherwise. Their systems are actually very advanced.

This is actually a major fixation of a world I am slowly building for a future book. Short answer: reduce/reuse/rot is the law of the land. And they know that recycling was usually corporate greenwashing.
