Reactionary centrist
I do not believe Angela Rayner should replace Keir Starmer but this is really desperate stuff. Angela Rayner got drunk on Monday. I was waiting for some other bits of gossip but that's it, that's all there is. It's laughable really.

Maybe because allegations from school 45 years ago don't carry the same weight as things said and done today.

Labour is doomed unless it learns to love Shabana Mahmood
The home secretary is right in trying to deliver what the British people want on immigration – and if she fails, it will be Nigel Farage who gets to call the shots, writes John Rentoul

The posts are terrible and a swift expulsion from the party and ostracism from polite society should follow. But. This really should not be a police matter. It's quite absurd they are getting involved.

You can, unfortunately, get away with a lot of bigotry and be a viable party for national power. But I don’t think you can be open to positions like this one on crime and be viable.

The number of antisemites this brought out of the woodwork is vile. To be clear, if you think anything Israel does justifies stabbing Jews in Britain, you're the same scum who think 9/11 justifies fire-bombing mosques, or Channel crossings justifies burning asylum hotels.

There's a common argument I'm hearing that the Greens couldn't possibly attract Islamists because they are a "pro queer" party. If you really hate Jews it makes sense to support the biggest mainstream party that aligns with your views on this issue. This shouldn't be hard to understand.

The only thing I would add is that Ion joined the party in February, and was a candidate by April. The Green party appears to think that 'vetting' is when you take your hamster for a check-up.

Zack Polanski shares dozens of posts a day. Likes scores more. He has not shared, or even, I believe, liked, a single one condemning the growing rogues’ gallery of hideous individuals, like this one, standing for his party. Not one.

The Greens were a respectable party two years ago. Now they are very intentionally choosing to embrace the worst of the Corbyn years in pursuit of Polanski's self-absorbed political ambitions. When Polanski said that the antisemitism claims in Labour were manufactured, he actively welcomed this.

This really lays bare how antisemitism creeps into opposition to the Israeli government's actions. Refusing to sing with Jews at a benefit to support a Jewish community that was targeted in a horrific, deadly attack is antisemitic.

A heartwarming series about socially awkward young people who have never dated mystifyingly adds an aged trans person with kids. I keep forward winding these bits, it's out of kilter with the rest of the show. Are the producers actually secret transphobes? It's the only explanation that makes sense.
