So Bluesky "took community feedback" from 14,000 people and then ignored all of it. They're now going after NSFW/queer/kink/furry artists and artists making art inspired by their own trauma. Kowtowing to fascists and betraying the core communities that made this site. Fuck you, Bluesky team.

I wish people would understand this is not a Bluesky exclusive thing. Jumping ship to another site will not do anything and you will be in the same position again and again. Make your voice heard, don't just keep trying to run away from the problem.

You might see several artists mad about the bluesky policy update banning non-con, even artists who do not make that kind of material, and wonder why it's such a problem. If that's you, here is a quick breakdown: 🧵

The upcoming proposed rules surrounding NSFW art are bad and the Bsky mod team should feel bad. Fellow artists: Remember that even if you don't make NSFW art, rules like these eventually come back to bite us all, especially if we make works about queerness.

Restricting the expression of sexuality through fiction and art made by adults, for adults – including those you find personally disturbing or offputting – is conservative censorship, full stop. When that censorship disproportionately affects subgroups, that's also discrimination. For shame.

Since many of us are cancelling streaming services, now might also be a good time to support writers and artists. Times are extremely tough for creatives, so why not buy a book, commission an art piece, sign up for a Patreon, tip your favorite creators. Everything helps.

Sorry for the lack of art and posts recently! Work's been busy this week and also I've been doing a lot of Kogarashitober prep work :> should be posting the list sometime this month since it's basically almost all ironed out but I'm so excited for another year. There's some really good prompts~
