I agree that this will be a severe challenge. It takes 2-4 years to train a Speech & Language Therapist. There already are insufficient SLTs for the jobs currently available. Plans may need to include consideration of how to encourage returners, improve retention & increase hours of part-timers.

Fantastic. This is just what we need. Could you also do one on language difficulties? Especially Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) which affects 7% of children (2 in every classroom). Low awareness means that people with DLD have to constantly explain what DLD is. #DLDday is on 17th Oct

When funding models dictate services - especially when excellent evidence exists that may contradict those funding models - we need to rigorously query what clinicians are doing
