Saw Into the Woods today, college performance. It’s one of my favorite musicals. My favorite line is Little Red Riding Hood saying to Cinderella “…you talk to BIRDS?” in a snarky/disbelieving tone. It’s a moment where someone is seeing how utterly strange this whole thing actually is.

I just had a “you know you’re a grownup when…” moments because I cleaned the stove and it made me happy. Some days it really doesn’t take much to find a good thing.

On Monday I get to find out if some interlinked Excel files currently on a shared drive manage to stay linked once they’re moved up to Sharepoint. The tech people agreed to move copies so I don’t have to spend days rebuilding if the links break. I’m not expecting it to work.

I’m excited! I just got the new book from @thebloggess.bsky.social!! I also have it on Libro so I can read it or listen depending on what I’m doing.

Teenager has an amazing project in mind and wants me to quickly learn to do animation in support of that project. I don’t mind trying, but there will be significant disappointment when I can’t create fascinating animations immediately. I have explained that it takes a while…

The past year has been very challenging for my mental health. Better living through chemistry, my little dog, and developing a case of DGAF-itis is going a long way towards helping me become able to get through days. I’m starting to enjoy living again.

Chibi has been with us for a year! This 7 pound ball of fluff gets me to smile every day (despite *waves hands* everything) and he’s slowly accepting that the world isn’t completely terrifying. He’s about 3 years old. As far as I know, his first two years he was always indoors.

Dad has a hospital bed & needs full instead of half rails. I talked to the company 2x yesterday, 3x today, was told they’d be there yesterday, then today, and now they’ll be delivered tomorrow. Maybe. He’s a fall risk. At night his dementia gets worse. I am really frustrated with Verio Healthcare!

I love that we’re building holiday traditions. Tonight we got to do our annual Mission Inn Lights visit and we brought a couple of friends! No pictures of people due to my teenager not approving the pictures.

Foster dog got fixed today. He was very loopy afterwards. He just sat still and stared at nothing. The evening walk included him frantically barking at nothing, so I’m kind of wondering if he was hallucinating. He has calmed down, thankfully.

A new foster dog is living with us! He's a 3 year old mini Schnauzer who was used as a stud. He wants all the attention and loves to play. I have no interest in keeping him because he's not snuggly, but he will find his place eventually. He's shaved down right now (probably mats).

We got home last night. Mom picked up her dog today. The cats are vying for lap space because they’ve gone days without cuddles. I’m hoping they let me sleep tonight!

I was asked to foster a 1.5 year old Border Collie mix. Currently 30ish#, will eventually be 50# when not starving. I can’t. I can foster calm, older, smaller dogs who can sleep much of the day, but my small house plus my work schedule would drive that poor dog completely batty.

Winnie and Leo, mom’s dog, who is visiting for a bit. I’m glad they get along. I’m enjoying extra snuggles. The cats are irritated, but that’s life. Leo will go home eventually.

Thinking about how to keep food cold in a carry on for a plane trip. Just realized that I can bring frozen peas. They're cheap, they're counted as solid food rather than liquid/ice, and I can use them to keep other food cold. I'm sure other people have thought of it, but I'm feeling smart. 😁

We’re dogsitting my mom’s dog. He’s about the same size as the cats. The cats are Not Amused. It is periodically unexpectedly very loud in the house, especially when anyone is going around corners!

A few years ago I got a heated mattress pad. I turn it on an hour or so before going to bed and I often turn it all the way off before going to sleep. Climbing into a warm bed is a luxury, and since the heat rises, it’s better than an electric blanket. The cats also approve.

My favorite times to look at the sky are the dawn and dusk moments when the trees look black against the darkening skies. I got lucky and caught that moment tonight.

Winnie needed a little blanket for therapy dog visits and a friend made one. I love it so much-rainbow colors with hearts and dog paw prints!

I cooked tonight-chicken and wild rice soup with biscuits. I didn’t get a picture with all 6 biscuits. 😂 Definitely comfort food.
