Bluesky's image compression logic SUCKS. It turns everything to JPG no matter what you give it, it lowers the jpg quality until it fits under 1MB. The end result is that 99% of the images I upload end up TAKING UP MORE SPACE THAN THE ORIGINAL FORMAT!!! in my test, 6x more for webp, 4x more for png!
