Concept sketches for Duma, the cheetah who was introduced to the Raccoony webcomic in 2003. Duma was one of my fav characters. He played an antagonistic role but in a fun, relatable way. My sketches always were (and continue to be) loose and rough.

I've been out of the office for 3 weeks. This is the longest break I've had since I was 17 and it feels absolutely incredible. I just checked my work e-mail for the first time and saw that they filed a patent application for another one of my ideas. I'm creating IP even when I'm not there!

It's super weird how I can effortlessly make a nice gesture sketch appear on paper in a few minutes but trying to draw the same pic with clean lines feels like eternal agony.

I met Don Bluth at San Diego Comic Con in 2002. He was surprisingly approachable and pleasant to chat with. Mr. Bluth kindly drew Justin in my sketchbook. The Secret of NIMH will always have a special place in my heart.

Watched the movie 'Take Out' this week. Enjoyed the film so much that I finally tried the Chinese takeout place in town. Practiced Mandarin with the lady who worked there, she was super friendly. The chef ran out of the kitchen when he heard us speaking Chinese. He was probably surprised to hear it.

Swimming felt awesome. It's been years but I managed to swim over 2km at altitude. I earned the buffet, time to gorge with a clear conscience. 😇
