I’m encouraged that overdose deaths fell nationally for the third straight year. As good as this news is, it just shows that we can’t take our foot off the gas. We need to provide these critical programs the resources they need – clearly it pays off.

Right now, we’re watching a systematic attack on the political power of Black voters across the South. It threatens to bring us back to a deeply shameful part of our past. Today, I’m standing in solidarity with the National Day of Action and in support of fair representation for every American.

This is cartoonishly corrupt. I know that we’ve come to expect this from Trump and his cronies, but that doesn’t mean that we still don’t deserve better. The President of the United States should serve the American people – not just himself.

The admin of Donald Trump - who decorates everything he owns with gold - wants to slash critical assistance for 400,000 Americans with disabilities whose families are on SNAP.   These people deserve our help - not to be callously punished by their government.

I saw the report that RFK Jr. looked into banning SSRIs. Perhaps if he had any medical expertise, he’d know that these medications are lifesaving for so many Americans. Yet again, this is the Trump administration trying to insert itself between patients and their doctors. I’m not having any of it.

For many Americans, SSRIs aren’t optional interventions. These treatments are essential, life-sustaining care.   HHS should be focusing on the systemic drivers of our mental health care crisis, not perpetuating stigma and making unfounded claims.

Yesterday, I joined 258 colleagues from the House and Senate to demand that the Supreme Court protects access to Mifepristone.
 We can’t have Republican politicians across the country playing doctor and telling Americans how to handle their own pregnancies. Mifepristone remains safe and effective.

Not enough money to lower the cost of healthcare, food, gas, etc. but a BILLION of our dollars for Trump’s ballroom. Shameful.

Addressing our mental health crisis - especially when it comes to our youth and veterans - is among the most important work I’m doing in Congress. It’s critical that we end the stigma and remind folks that the body doesn’t stop at the neck. Happy Mental Health Awareness Month!

One of my top priorities in Congress is addressing our mental health crisis. During Mental Health Awareness Month and otherwise, we must pursue policies that address workforce shortages and combat consolidation in the health care sector so we can ensure access to services in every community.

This is just a temporary win. Yet again, mifepristone was approved by the FDA 25 years ago and it’s been safe and effective for MILLIONS of women since. That doesn’t change based on whether you got the medicine at a doctor’s office or through the mail.

I’m proud to be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week this week. I’ve always been passionate about mentoring our future generations. It’s why I became a social studies teacher in the first place and why I’m energized to fight for our educators and students in Congress today.

People told us we were being alarmist when we said Republicans would come after our reproductive rights - overturning Roe v. Wade, allowing women to bleed out in their cars, arresting people for miscarriages, attacking contraception. But we’ve been right every single time.

I’m grateful for my Jewish heritage and the lessons it’s instilled in me – resilience and hope, that every person deserves justice, the desire to serve others. It’s important to spread those ideals, worship in the way that’s most meaningful to you, and pass our traditions on to future generations.

Just a reminder that Trump and Republicans made massive cuts to Medicaid and SNAP so they could super-charge ICE’s budget and fund tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations.   Quite a statement of their priorities.

We’re still reviewing this ruling but let’s be clear: the FDA first approved mifepristone 25 years ago and it’s been safe and effective for millions since. Whether it’s taken at home or in a medical setting has no impact on that. Every American must have the right to control their own pregnancies.

We just voted on the FISA bill. A majority of the House supports reforms to protect Americans from being surveilled by their own government. We can’t keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. Without those critical safeguards, I couldn’t support it. I voted NO.
