Donald Trump simply does not care that Americans can’t afford to put food on the table, pay rent, or go to the doctor.

No parents should fear not being able to retire because DC Republicans refuse to extend health care assistance to those with disabilities and complex health needs. If Congress doesn’t act, families like this will face rising costs they simply cannot afford. This is what we are fighting for.

The ACA has changed lives and expanded care to many who had been left out in the cold. I will not stop fighting to help feed our neighbors, turn SNAP benefits back on, and to make sure that those tens of millions of Americans most in need of health care can afford it. This is a life and death issue.

The president is admitting that he's to blame for shutting down the government. But instead of bringing everyone together to find a solution, Republicans are refusing to bring the House back to Washington. It's time for them to reopen the House so we can end this shutdown.
