The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion. The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion. Read that back. When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

Been off since last Wednesday for a five day Birthday Weekend (the day itself was Thursday). A splendid time was had. LOTS of music, including a living room concert last night featuring my dear friend @pugwalsh.bsky.social. And yes, I belted out a few harmonies with him. Absolute joy.

Having a cuppa tea with my coffee cake. Some forms of rebellion are quiet.

Trio session tonight. We haven’t played since the July gig. Time to shake the dust off.

There was the annual Grange Fair as well as the first local attempt at a Porchfest with various musical acts* in my little town yesterday. Big turnout, and a great time. It was the sort of thing that ought to happen more often. *I did not play, but a couple of friends did.

I think some men want to watch the world burn, but some other men just don’t mind if that’s a consequence of their competition to have the most money ever.

R.I.P. Rick Davies. The singer, songwriter, and keyboardist for progressive pop-rockers Supertramp has died. Davies wrote some of the British band’s biggest hits including “Bloody Well Right” and “Goodbye Stranger.” He passed away on Saturday at age 81 after a battle with multiple myeloma.

Sometimes it gets a little foggy.

Today at noon we scattered my parents' ashes in one of their favorite places in Maine. Several friends from families that were dear to them (and me) were with us. A fitting close to this chapter of the story.

I have not been on this particular island in over twenty years, but used to spend the three Summer months here when I was a kid. The coast of Maine is nothing short of glorious.

My goal for yesterday was to wake up this morning in Maine. Pleased to say the plan worked out swimmingly. Or maybe drivingly. We didn't swim.
