New analysis just confirmed what Illinois families already know: energy costs are rising. President Trump promised that energy bills would be “cut in half” when he took office. Instead, Illinoisans have seen their annual costs go up $200.

President Trump just announced he’s only going to send out partial SNAP payments this month. SNAP amounts to just $6 a day - partial benefits are simply not enough to keep food on the table. He has the legal authority to fully fund this critical assistance, instead he’s leaving families hungry.

360,000 Illinoisans stand to be impacted by SNAP changes in Trump’s Big, Ugly Law. @Quigley.house.gov and I sent a letter to USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins urging more time for our state to make these changes, so that we can protect as many folks as possible from these disastrous cuts.

Here’s the reality: Social Security simply isn’t keeping up with seniors’ high cost of living. I’m proud to introduce a bill to tie Social Security adjustments to the price index for older Americans, better reflecting seniors' costs. We’re fighting to ensure every American can retire with dignity.
