The information that precedes this novel is better written & more interesting than the book. It was written by a retired Japanese naval officer, & is it awful! It’s about Japan defeating the US in a Pacific conflict in 1933 & occupying Hawaii as a reward. The book was banned by the US. #books #read

Just finished reading. Billy Mitchell was an arrogant, bombastic, opinionated, combative, insubordinate army officer. He was also a racist and believed in segregation. He accurately predicted that Japan would attack Pearl Harbor by air, almost 2 decades before they did. Fascinating. #read #books

Spent an incredible day #hiking Aravaipa Canyon, one of Arizona's true wonders, yesterday. This is the OTHER place we are working to save from copper #mining in the lower San Pedro watershed. This ♥️ rock (left in the canyon) completely encapsulates how I feel about this area.

Watched three Walter Matthau movies today. So there.

Just made zero sugar cook and serve chocolate pudding. Threw some crushed, lightly salted dry roasted peanuts into it at the end. Skin forming, as we speak, which is fine by me.
