I call this crested #saguaro "the catcher's mitt," because when I discovered it in 2010, it looked like a small mitt. I wasn't sure it would crest, but I confirmed my suspicions were right, yesterday! It's been YEARS since I checked and I was delighted to see how it's evolved.

What an incredible time completing #beaver surveys along the Lower San Pedro River with Watershed Management Group this weekend. THIS - perennial flow and gorgeous #riparian desert habitat - is what is what we WILL lose if copper #mining comes to the San Pedro Valley.

I had the pleasure of meeting fellow bobcat camera trap enthusiast @crytzerfry.bsky.social in person today and hear about her beloved Galiuro Mountains. I think her bobcat vibes summoned this visitor to our water station today.

It's #Caturday again! Squeezy is a traveling man. Rode up to Phoenix in the RV and took a ride in the truck with me around our rural town.

It's #FelidFriday, and this #bobcat caught quite the prize. Appears to be a #jackrabbit, given sheer size and rabbit-leg length.

The Galiuro Mountains are home to one of the most biodiverse areas in the southwest - yes, another Sky Island north of Tucson (threatened by #mining). Caught on #trailcam: a very lean #mountainlion, #javelina family, #coatimundi, and black #vulture.

I continue to think the #coyotes are finding a local #mountainlion's cache. This appears to be a #javelina head in its mouth (remember the pair of deer legs last month?) Caught on #cameratrap.

Today, I give thanks that this beautiful Arizona Sky Island still stands - the Galiuros - despite AZ Bureau of Land Management's every move to allow foreign mining to turn it into 28-square MILES of open pit & block-cave copper mines. It's is still OUR public land, and we will continue to fight.
