N...no. it's not the job of the op/ed page to publish pieces that make a case for genocidal policies. Not unless that paper is alright with publishing support for genocidal policies. Can we stop platforming hate and violence for the sake of "fair coverage" please?

Oh my goodness, I am so touched. I have never had a story reviewed before, and I'm honored by your words on my piece. This story has been very dear to me since the day I wrote it, panicking about those times the world tries to silence our art. I have to believe our hearts endure.

The BBC & the BAFTAs are the villains here. At best this was gross negligence, at worst possibly intentional. Either way, the lack of care they demonstrated toward both the Black and disability communities is absolutely unacceptable. And the wave of misplaced outrage online has compounded the harm.

Hello all! Do you like having the internet? Do you like being able to post and not get sued or censored? Do you want to protect the smaller forums and bastions of community support? Do you wanna say fuck you to Big Tech? Then go look up Section 230 and TELL YOUR SENATORS TO PROTECT THAT SHIT.

I have a tip for all the big industries wanting people to spend money on their products: Support an economy where our basic needs are met. We are not going to buy 80 dollar video games before we buy food, istg.

SO for a glimpse at the internal world of someone with POTS... My hubby was trailing his coat behind him down the stairs and I accidentally stepped on it. I then had to stop everything and do a quadratic equation to figure out how to get off the thing without falling over.

"I don't know" can be weaponized into one of the most infuriating ways to end a conversation. A problem arises, someone asks for help, and someone says "I don't know" and checks out. And bam. The problem stays. Help isn't given, nothing improves. 'idk' should be a starting point, not a shut down.

Just did the actually picking up the phone and calling senators/congressmen thing today. Turns out it's incredibly quick and low effort. Calling and leaving clear messages has the most impact of any contact save in-person, so I encourage you, do it. Check out

Sometimes I wish I could make parents understand the sort of pain a child has to be in to go no contact. It's incredibly hard to fight that instinct to seek a parents love. You have to break your own heart.

Too often mutual aid requests stall while a person is alive, and then when they pass the goal is met quickly. Itβs hard to ask for help and as a community we need to commit to helping in life & in death. We need to fund treatments, housing, food & caregiversβ¦ not just funerals.

Rest in peace Alice Wong, a hero of the disability community, a gorgeous writer, whose work was the first taste I had of dignity of disability in art. Of community and justice for disabled people. I never met her, but Alice Wong changed my life. May her spirit find peace without pain.

In a world where the stupidest words are half blurred and censored in random articles, please do not add disabled to the list. It's not a dirty word. It's not upsetting. It's not inappropriate, adult, or bad. Stop erasing every sign of us and branding us like we're shameful.

It's like a virus. If they put out a statement at 2 weeks and we stop, then the next time they censor even more, we'll have to call 4 weeks to get them to even make a statement. The fight won't be easier to win a year from now. We just have to be relentless, we can't give them a recovery period.

One of the best things about doing sensitivity edits and related consulting work is the people I work with. People who want to do their best by disabled/queer readers tend to self-select for being genuinely decent human beings. This has nothing to do with a recent client, noooo.
