I may be mistaken, but I believe I am the first person working off the tenure track to win this award in its half-century existence. I hope this will help put to rest the myth that historians struggle to secure permanent teaching positions because their work is inadequate.

1/ It's not just that unilaterally paying TSA agents is illegal. It's that Trump has now repeatedly undermined the core of the congressional power of the purse. He's not spending money that has been appropriated by law (impoundments) and he's spending money that has not been appropriated.

Awful. A teenager, dead by suicide in an ICE detention center. There is now a crisis of suicide inside the detention system; I have never seen anything like it. Suicide has happened before, but they were very rare. This is the third or fourth this year.

I had to read this several times to make sure I understood correctly: A bill in Missouri would make it so that if a judge releases a person charged with a crime on bail, and that person commits a felony, the *judge* would be charged with a felony for their decision to release that person
