For those of us keeping score at home (me, absolutely), 8 states have now won their cases against the DOJ and kept voter registration lists out of federal hands. Most recently, Maine and Wisconsin prevailed. In Maine’s case, the ruling even came from a Trump-appointed judge.

Gov. Polis granted clemency to Tina Peters, a dark day for democracy. Nearly half a million voters trust me with their right to vote. Anyone who abuses that trust should face real consequences. This commutation only encourages copycats. Our elections are still secure. I'll keep it that way.

The SAVE Act failed. Good. They call it “election security” because “making it harder for eligible people to vote” doesn’t test well. The people behind it are already looking for other ways to do the same thing at the state level. Not on our watch.
