Good trouble from Texas.

What an insanely demoralizing experience. I’m actually frustrated to the point of tears. I tried to go to the Texas Capitol today to register my opposition to a bunch terrible bills that dropped on committee today. All the information I was provided indicated that it would be easy. It was not.

Ohio may tie funding for the state's public universities to how many of their graduates get & keep jobs in the state. For 3 decades, Ohio Rs' policies have failed Ohio, producing a brain drain bc Ohio college grads can't find jobs there. So they'll punish higher ed for their own failed policies.

Every time I hear some racist, white, asshole throw out the term DEI, I am reminded of Kathleen McElroy who despite being an editor at the NYT for 2 decades and running the Oklahoma State and UT Journalism Schools was screwed over at Texas A&M by the Regents because they branded her a DEI hire.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.
