This Day in Labor History: September 14, 1889. Black guano workers on Navassa Island rose up and killed five white bosses in an act of desperation in revolt against a racist work regime. Let's talk about conditions of radicalized labor on this American owned island!

This (once) astonishing story signals the extent to which the far right fascist culture of organised violence has been fostered, emboldened and extended by MAGA politics. Disgusting and frightening.

I spent last week in Shropshire, and I'd like to share something I saw in the village of Minsterley, just SW of Shrewsbury: maidens' garlands, aka virgins' crowns, aka virgins' crants. I'd never seen anything like it, and I'd wager many other people haven't either.
